OPT-1 will only detect modulated light. The performance is still to be determined, but frequency should reach at least 500 MHz, with a useable range closing in on 1 GHz. The sensitivity and dynamic range remains to be ascertained.
5.5<V+<32 supply will allow for portable use with the MET-nn module and its 6V battery. Once we get a grip on what connectors and detectors are common in the fiber optic business we will supply this module with such components as well. Since LogProbe has stability and resolution to better than one dB, this instrument can be used in the field to verify the integrity of a splice, assuming the modulation remains constant.
